Men’s Clothing Drive

As we look forward to celebrating the Thanksgiving holidays in November, the Evangelism and Outreach Ministry would like to take this opportunity to reach out to the less fortunate in our community. We have designated the month of November as a time to touch the lives of the homeless living at the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission through donations of extra larges sizes of men’s jackets and hoodies. Other items urgently needed are: men’s gloves, socks, underwear, and shoes. It is an interesting fact that the majority of the clients at this mission are men, but most of the donations received from the community are for women.

The Good Samaritan Rescue Mission began as a little house church with only 8 beds and a soup kitchen. This was the birth of a ministry that God has used to help literally hundreds of thousands of homeless men and women to find the Lord and to find themselves. Now, after celebrating 61 years of continual service to the homeless, Good Sam has grown to 213 beds and their little soup kitchen has served over two million meals!

We will begin accepting your donations on Sunday, November 2. These items may be placed in the receptacle in the Narthex, and will be collected through Sunday, November 30. As you pray and reflect upon the blessings of our generous God in your life, please join us in sharing the gift of warm clothing items to a discouraged, homeless person.
